Features Getting paid · Lipa kidogo kidogo

Take a first payment, keep the goods, and record every instalment.

The customer pays a little now and the rest over time. Meku keeps the item for them, records the first payment in your account, and follows each instalment under Debts until the last one. Then the goods are ready to collect.

How it works

What you do, and what Meku does with it.

  1. You

At the POS, select Lipa kidogo kidogo under PAYMENT LATER. Choose the customer, enter the first payment and the account it went into. Tap Charge.

    Meku

Keeps the item for the customer. It is taken out of what is for sale, so nobody else can buy it while they are paying. The plan opens under Debts → Lipa kidogo kidogo with the balance.

  2. You

Each time they pay, open the plan under Debts and record the instalment and the account it went into.

    Meku

Reduces the balance and keeps every instalment on the customer's record.

  3. You

    Nothing.

    Meku

When the last instalment is paid, moves the plan to Ready to collect, which is your list of customers to call.

  4. You

    Hand over the goods.

    Meku

Closes the plan. It is done.

Questions

What if the customer stops paying?

Let the plan lapse. The item goes back on sale and what was paid is on record. A lapsed plan is final, because the stock may already be sold by the time they come back.

Is an instalment money in?

Yes. It goes into the account you choose when you record it, and it counts as a sale on the day it is paid.
