The latest update was released on 09/10/2026.
These are being built now. They are listed in the order we expect to release them.
Meku MRS is a patient record system for Tanzanian clinics, built on OpenMRS and connected to Meku Business. A test or a medicine the doctor orders waits on the patient's bill until it is paid, and then it reaches the lab or the pharmacy within seconds. NHIF is now an insurance provider in Meku, with its prices ready for your facility level, and its claims and payouts under Debts.
On the web app you can now import and export your products and your stock taking sheet, count and select all your products, change your password, and send a bank slip for your subscription. Products that are switched off no longer count against your plan.
Your website or app can now show your Meku products, prices and stock, and the customer pays on a checkout page that Meku runs. Every order comes into Meku with your other orders. If you have no website, send a payment link on WhatsApp, Instagram or SMS.
On the web app, you can now order stock from another business on Meku by typing its username. When the goods arrive, Meku adds them to your stock at the right cost and remembers your products for the next order. If you sell to other businesses, they can now order from you.
Today's cash now counts each account separately — cash, Lipa Namba and bank — not only cash. You can also create more than one cash box and choose the staff who use each one.
Handover is a new list of everything that has been ordered but not yet given to the customer, with an order slip for the kitchen. You can also now set what each staff is allowed to do, one person at a time.
Keep an open bill for a table and split it when the customers pay. Add a tax only when you need it. Keep a record of every worker, and let Meku prepare the monthly payroll from those records. Every sale also shows the staff who served.
The new Meku is now on the App Store. It is the same app as on Android, and on iPhone you pay for your plan through Apple.
Cashiers can now see the payment buttons, the Charge button is no longer hidden on some Android phones, the POS hides categories with nothing to sell, and Settings uses clearer names.
The Android app has been completely rebuilt, and the same Meku now works in any browser as the web app. Your accounts are now the payment buttons at the POS, and Money has a new Accounts section.
Expenses are now recorded under a fixed list of categories that match an income statement. You can switch off the ones you do not use, and nothing you recorded before will change.
Edit a product once and every branch gets the change. See the stock of all your branches together, send customers your price list, and log in with Apple.
Do stock taking and Meku records the differences for you. Manage the settings of all your branches from one page, and contact support even when you cannot open the app.
You do not need to type the same bills every month. Set them up once, and Meku records them for you.
Keep the goods for a customer, receive the payment in instalments, and always know who still owes you and how much.
If you have more than one shop, put them in one group. Manage the products and the stock together, and pay for Meku with one payment instead of shop by shop.
Small changes at the POS that save a few seconds on every sale, many times a day.
The same Meku now works on iPhone, as well as on Android and the web.
A proper layout for business owners who manage their business from a laptop or computer, instead of a phone screen made wider.
Guest houses, tour operators and hire businesses sell dates, not items on a shelf. Meku now handles bookings by date.
Manage several businesses without several accounts and several passwords.
Better product pages, and reports that show which products are selling and which are not.
For pharmacies, food shops and any business with goods that expire, each delivery now has its own expiry date instead of one date for the whole product.
Restaurants, bakeries and workshops make what they sell. Meku now keeps track of the ingredients and materials.
Sizes, colours and packs, each with its own price, stock and photo, all inside one product.
See your Meku invoice, pay it, or send proof of payment, without leaving the app.
The biggest change since launch. The app is now arranged around the five things you do every day.
Fewer passwords to remember, and staff who can use the POS without using your account.
Build trust with customers, and set up your business in minutes.
Revenue, expenses and purchases each have their own report now, and you can create your own expense categories.
You can now scan barcodes, and you can pay for Meku by bank transfer as well as by mobile money.
In the first weeks after launch, we worked on one thing: making it quick to move a real business into the app.
A POS, stock and records in one app, made for businesses in Tanzania.
Put a QR code on each table, room, car wash bay or fuel pump. The customer scans it with their phone camera and orders from your menu. The order comes to your orders list showing where it came from, so you know where to take it. The customer does not need to install any app.
At the end of the day, Meku sends an SMS to your phone with your sales, your expenses and the money customers owe you. You do not need to open the app.
Sell and make expenses even when there is no network. Meku keeps them on your phone and adds them to your records when the network comes back, so your stock and your sales stay correct.
Ask for it inside the app. We read every message, and what business owners ask for most is what we build next.
Request a featureThis opens the app. Log in if you have not already.
Simple to use. Works on the web, iPhone and Android.
