Meku MRS is a patient record system for Tanzanian clinics, connected to Meku Business. The doctor orders, the patient pays at the cashier, and the lab and the pharmacy see the order within seconds.
For dispensaries, polyclinics and dental clinics.
What each person at the clinic does, and what Meku does with it.
Registers a new patient, or finds a returning one by the number on their old card. Starts the visit as Cash or NHIF.
Every patient has a Patient ID. Meku knows the patient by that number, never by the name.
Writes the history and the diagnosis, and orders the tests and the medicines. Each medicine shows In stock or Out of stock, and its price.
When the doctor signs, every order goes to the patient's bill and waits there. On an NHIF visit, what NHIF pays for goes straight to the lab or the pharmacy.
Types the Patient ID in Bills, and takes the money for all the orders, or only for some of them.
Records the money in the account it went to, and releases the paid orders to the lab and the pharmacy within seconds.
Do the tests that are paid, and give the medicines that are paid. A prescription is given once, exactly as it was written.
Keeps unpaid orders under Awaiting payment, where nobody can start them. If the visit ends unpaid, the orders come off the bill and the stock goes back.
Open Meku Business on your phone or your computer.
Today's sales, the money in each cash box, the stock and what NHIF owes you are already up to date. Nobody writes them up.
Meku MRS keeps the clinical records. Meku Business keeps the money and the stock. They talk to each other, so nothing is written twice.
Meku Business receives the Patient ID and what was ordered. It never receives the patient's name, the diagnosis or the results.
NHIF is an insurance provider in Meku. It pays later, at its own prices, for what the clinic gives its members now. What NHIF does not pay for waits at the cashier like any other order.
In Settings → Insurance, press Add a provider, then Add NHIF. Meku keeps the list of providers, so nothing is typed.
Choose your facility level and press Import. NHIF's prices for more than 1,000 medicines and tests arrive at once.
On an NHIF visit, what NHIF pays for goes straight to the lab or the pharmacy. It is recorded as a sale to NHIF, at NHIF's price.
Each month, download the claim from Debts → Insurance and check it against the NHIF portal. When NHIF pays, record the payout. What NHIF cut is written off.
A clinic that does not take NHIF skips this. Every order is then paid at the cashier, at your own prices.
The clinic keeps working. There are two ways to let an order through, and both are recorded.
The patient paid cash while Meku could not be reached. The cashier marks the order as paid offline, with a reason, and the lab or the pharmacy can start.
The patient cannot wait. A doctor releases the order as an emergency, with a reason. It stays on the patient's bill until it is paid.
Meku Business lists every order released before payment in Settings → Meku MRS, so you record the cash or follow up the bill. Nothing is given without you knowing.
Meku does the technical part. Your part is the prices, the stock and the staff.
Choose Hospital as the kind of business. This is where your prices, your stock and your money will be.
We set up your clinic's own server in the cloud, at your own address, such as records.yourclinic.co.tz, and connect it to your Meku account.
Each patient comes from your old system with their old number, and gets a new Patient ID. Their past visits and results stay in the old system, for looking things up.
Switch on what your clinic offers and set your prices. Add NHIF if you take it. Then count your stock with the stock taking sheet.
Doctors, nurses, reception, cashiers and pharmacists each log in with their own role, which opens only what their work needs.
From that day, every test and every medicine is paid before it is given.
Small and medium clinics in Tanzania: dispensaries, polyclinics and dental clinics. It runs in the cloud. A large hospital that needs a server inside the building is not who it is built for.
The clinic's server is in the cloud, so the clinic's computers need the internet to reach it. If only Meku cannot be reached, the clinic keeps working: the cashier marks cash payments as paid offline, and a doctor can release an emergency.
No. A clinic that does not take NHIF skips that step, and every order is paid at the cashier, at your own prices.
Yes. The cashier unticks the orders the patient is not paying now. Those stay on the bill and stay waiting at the lab. If the visit ends before they are paid, they come off the bill, and when the patient comes back with the money, the doctor orders them again.
Your patients come across with their old number, so nobody registers again. Their past visits, results and notes stay in the old system. Keep it running for looking things up, for about a year.
The Patient ID and what was ordered. It never receives the patient's name, the diagnosis or the results. Those stay on the clinic's server.
The doctor sees Out of stock while ordering. Meku does not bill an order for something with no stock, so it does not reach the lab or the pharmacy, and the doctor sees why.
Meku Business is on its usual plans, which are on the Pricing page. The clinic's server is a separate cost. Talk to us for the price for your clinic.
