How to fulfil online orders on Meku
Follow an online order through its three steps, Sold, Handed over and Paid, and learn the package details that keep Dodo deliveries correctly priced.

An online order is different from a sale at your counter. Your customer has already paid. Now you need to pack it, give it to the rider, and continue with your work. The Meku order page is built for this: three steps, three dates, and no extra work.
What you need before you start
- An online order in your list (or a test order: open your shop page and place one)
- The weight and size of your products filled in (Meku uses them to choose the delivery vehicle)
- Your pickup address set in your settings
- Your business phone set under Settings → Business (the rider calls you if they cannot find the place)
Step 1: Open your orders
Go to Transactions → Orders. The buttons at the top divide your orders into:
- All: every order
- Sold: paid, and waiting for you to give it to the rider
- Handed over: the rider has collected it, and it is being delivered
- Paid: delivered, and your money is in your account
The newest orders are first. The amount shows what you receive, not what your customer paid. Service fees are not included.
Step 2: Open a Sold order
A new order appears under Sold. Tap it. You see:
- The customer’s name and phone
- The delivery address, with a small map
- The items, with their quantities
- The amount you will receive (without Meku’s service fee and the delivery fee)
- The money timeline, which shows Sold done, and Handed over and Paid still waiting
Step 3: Pack and prepare for the rider
Pack the order. A Dodo rider is sent automatically, from the customer’s address and your pickup place. You do not have to press anything. If the address looks wrong, or you need to talk to your customer, use the phone number on the order page.
Tip: Enter the correct package size for every product. A small package of 3 kg and 25×20×15 cm needs a different vehicle and a different price from a heavy 25 kg bag of rice. A wrong size means either a refund of the price difference or a failed Dodo delivery. You can avoid both by filling in the product form correctly once.
Step 4: Give it to the rider
The Dodo rider arrives, shows you the order number on their phone, and collects the package. When they mark it as collected, your order moves to Handed over, and the time it was handed over appears in your timeline. You can close the order page. You have done your part.
Step 5: Wait for Paid
When the rider delivers, your order moves to Paid. Payouts are prepared every day at 01:00, Tanzania time, and the money from this order comes in your next daily payout.
Common questions
Why does my customer pay more than I receive? Online orders have a service fee (Meku’s commission) and a delivery fee (paid to Dodo) added on top of your prices. Your customer sees one total. You see the details. The amount you receive is the total of your products, and the fees do not change it.
What if the rider cannot find my customer? Dodo handles it. The rider calls your customer, tries again, or brings the package back to you if it cannot be delivered. In that case you see that the delivery failed, and the order stays at Handed over. Contact support if it stays failed for more than a few hours.
Can I refund an order if my customer changes their mind after it is handed over? A refund after the order is handed over goes through Meku support. Contact us from Settings → Support. There is no one-tap refund for an order that was handed over, because the rider has already done the work and Dodo has already charged for it. A refund must be arranged with them.
